Maxi Jersey Cocktail Dress – Xanadu

Which colour grabs you first, turquoise blue, bright raspberry, cobalt blue, bubble gum, neon orange, wild lime, this maxi length jersey dress is a cascade of colour.  A personality that is bold, exuding confidence, fun and laughter your ability to celebrate who you are on your terms this is Xanadu.

An exotic print, which brings to mind birds of paradise and their plumage, although some of the flowers lend themselves more to the imagination of the artist, the meaning of the word Xanadu is described ‘as a place of great beauty, luxury and contentment’, that’s where I want this dress to take you.

There were only a couple of metres of this fabric available,  I felt the only way to show the artistic detail in its entirety was to make her into a maxi/long dress.  Xanadu was made for dressing to the beat of your own drum, you know you are going to be seen and people are going to talk, as my Mum would say, ‘if people are going to talk about you, then give them something to talk about’!

Another note of design distinction is in the hem of the sleeves; in keeping with the tropical flower motif, the sleeve hem is made as petals, lined in the same fabric. Did I also mention the hemline of the dress, a vibrant orange embroidery stitch. This dress it’s all about attention to detail, and all eyes on you.
