‘Cher‘ the name of this dress is a play on words, one for my admiration of the singer Cher, and two because its talks of the boldness of this dress and I guess it’s personality. It’s interesting when you wear something that is contrasting in colours, it talks about a personality not needing to be defined, the vibrant orange background of the shrug top part of the dress, it sets you apart.
This dress is all about the contours of your body, the way a dress should hug and support you, without restriction. You have that in this dress, the brown tiered jersey maxi skirt which also has a basque/corset style fit in the waist and above the tummy area, because of the stretch and recovery of this fabric, it is so comfortable to wear. I wear a style of this dress, I love the way it makes me more aware of my posture, making me stand taller; with heels she is a darling.
Now for the couture detailing, you have this gorgeous lettuce hem edging creating several tiers, so it looks all ruched a the hem. Zoom over towards the finished hemline of this maxi dress. Definitely a day to evening dress for many of occasions, “for some reason I see the person wearing this dress signing her books at a book convention, whoever you are congratulations”! An ‘Exclusive Originals’ label, only one made in this fabric, a stand-alone piece.
‘Eastern Promise‘ is a dress that promises, you will be noticed! Let’s face it, a kaleidoscope of colours, lime greens, yellow, turquoise blue you are going to stand out. Initially the print reminded me of the artistry from Emilio Pucci renown for his geometric prints and bold detail, his work still carries kudos today.
Adding a touch of the Orient with the dramatic flared sleeves, or as I like to say my Kimono styled sleeves, if its a chilly evening you can place your hands in it’s opposite, all in keeping with its unique look the non-conforming jersey dress! The neckline a ‘v’ neck great for your bust-line, compliments a variety of face shapes. The contrasting bustier made in shiny black faux snake-skin is finished with suede ribbon for the mock-tie front with metal eyelets, the purpose of which is to accentuate your silhouette just like a corset from back-in-the-day, only with comfort and no fainting!
Tapered lined mini skirt, a wonderful way to show off your legs and stunning shoes to match. I see Eastern Promise as a Party Dress statement dress, that makes her presence known, worn by a woman who is adventurous, dynamic and full of fun. An ‘Exclusive Original’ label part of a capsule collection, the only dress made in this fabric.
A dress called ‘Happiness‘ because that is exactly how I want you to feel when wearing this 60’s style floral jersey dress. The fabric from Italy, the print is described as being on par with Mexican Talavera pottery. She’s bold and bright, I can see her being worn with a big floppy hat, accessorised with a patent leather coloured clutch bag (I think yellow would look quite nice), quite outstanding for a day at the races.
Looking at the abstract exotic flowers, set on a crisp white background, does it look to you, that the print is raised creating an almost 3D effect? In order to capture the big green flower that sits on the shoulder, the sleeve had to have volume, the only way to do that, was with a dramatic statement that is the Kimono sleeve. Voluminous sleeves create a powerful look and silhouette allowing the dress to have a continuous flow. Hand-finished detail using couture sewing techniques, the tapered skirt and basque are lined in white for structure and support.
I also think this floral jersey dress would look great on a cruise ship holiday, Happiness is part of a mini capsule collection, there is a top made in the same fabric which can be viewed at my studio. This jersey dress is an ‘Exclusive Original label’, which means there is only one for purchase.
Monochrome is always striking black and white wears beautifully all the time; aptly named ‘Paisley‘ a black and white patterned dress, derives her name from the print of her fitted shrug. A short-sleeved jersey dress with mock snakeskin cuff the theme is carried through to a fitted basque. A stretch jersey dress that is made up of 3 contrasting fabrics.
Soft cotton jersey is the paisley print, mock snakeskin for the fitted basque and sleeve cuff, tapered pencil skirt made of a black textured lace with a beautiful stretch that has depth and weight to her. Made to hug the contours of your body; both the skirt and basque are lined for additional luxury, comfort and structure.
I picture you wearing this cocktail dress to a black tie event; a day at the races with a black and white hat, (how about a herringbone fabric for the hat)! Silver jewellery, black and white, a splash of vibrant colour to spice things up even more, a cuff bracelet, its a beautiful canvass for you to add your personality too. An ‘Exclusive Original’ label, the only one made in these contrasting fabrics, a stand alone statement piece.
I wanted to bring out the strong contrast in the purple shrug detail, and her contrasting knit fabric, creating the illusion of a sash with sleeves. Purple is such a regal colour, the cotton jersey fabric is soft and comfortable.
It’s all about contrasts of fabrics that work together, not only in terms of colour but also textures; however to make the shrug more eye-catching I decided to hand-bead the sleeve hem and around the neckline with bugle beads, red sequins and seed beads, picking out the colours from the circular abstract pattern. The kimono style sleeves is all about the drama this dress speaks to, she’s a chic cocktail dress.
The beaded ‘v’ neck still allows for a statement necklace, delicate earrings, subtle touches. The basque is lined and zips up the centre back, the abstract patterned tapered skirt rests just above the knee. Purple Lady is a Coral Turner Exclusive Original, ready-to-wear dress, the only one made in this fabric, a stand alone piece.
‘Rosetta‘ as this dress is named, is a black and red cocktail dress featuring abstract floral roses with the drama of contrasting fabrics; the colour red is associated with vibrancy and power, the black velvet contrast creates an illusion of two styles of dresses in one.
The silhouette of this dress accentuates your curves; she’s a dress for a variety of occasions, Ladies Day at the Races comes to mind, coupled with an equally striking hat and clutch bag, and lets not forget heels, you are already ‘Best Dressed’ at the races.
Rosetta glides easily from day to evening wear, so you would be comfortable wearing her to a cocktail party. Couture details hand-finished velvet v-neck, a basque that cinches in your waist, long slim fitted sleeves, gore paneled skirt, subtle kick pleats, she’s also lined in a sheer mesh. An ‘Exclusive Originals’ label the only one made in this jersey fabric.
Party dress, garden party dress, cruise ship dress, take your pick; this exotic jersey floral print dress, named ‘Xanadu‘ has you covered. The vibrancy of this print is a throwback to 60’s psychedelic art when everything was groovy baby! A big choker necklace, or lashings of long coloured pearls is what this dress calls out for. The long sleeves have what I describe as petals at the sleeve hem, each piece is cut separately, but others might say its a ruffle hem. The shaping of this dress is all about your silhouette, with her a fitted basque, she cinches you in above the waistline for comfort, a flared long evening skirt drapes beautifully skimming your body.
Rather than have set-in sleeves, the shrug detail which falls into the basque is beautifully comfortable, coupled with fabric that is so soft to the touch. Strong jewel, floral colours of royal blue, hot pink, orange, red, set on a fuchsia pink background. The basque of the dress is lined in purple mesh which gives additional support and structure. ‘Xanadu’ is a maxi dress that I would say is a style statement, an ‘Exclusive Original label’ a stand alone piece, the only one made in this jersey fabric.
