HOW DO I TAKE MY OWN MEASUREMENTS?

  1. Bust: raise your arms and placing a tape measure underneath, lower your arms and measure all the way round the fullest part of your chest.

2. Waist: when measuring your waist, think in terms of where a slim belt would rest, measure around the smallest part of your waist; do not pull the tape measure too tight, keep it comfortably relaxed.

3. Hips: measure around the widest part of the hip, slide the tape measure up and down this section of your body, to make sure you have the largest measurement in this area.

What’s the difference between jersey and woven fabrics?

Jersey fabrics are essentially knitted fabrics they are composed of a loop structure when weaved; they vary in weight, texture and elasticity, the stretch (elasticity) within the weave of jersey is what allows the fabric to move with your body and feels comfortable against the skin.

Woven fabrics are made up of two sets of yarn interlaced at right angles to each other, in general they tend to have very little stretch unless stretch-textured yarns have been woven into the fabric. Think of tailoring and structured garments, again there is a wide variety of woven fabrics from cotton to wool and others in between.

These measurements are for jersey and woven fabrics, please note that jersey has a slight stretch but woven is true to size.
